Dr. Daniela Eleonora Cioplean

Ophthalmologist Primary Physician

Dr. Cioplean is one of the co-founders of the Romanian Society of Strabology and Ophthalmopediatrics. He completed several training internships in Strabismus and Ophthalmopediatrics in Israel and the United States of America with Professor Emeritus Eugene M. Helveston, Indiana University as his professional mentor. Since 1996, he runs the Oftapro Ophthalmic Clinic in Bucharest, the first private clinic in Romania specialized in strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology.

She is the author of more than 100 papers presented at national and international congresses (more than half as an international lecturer) and 27 specialized articles, most of them published in international publications. He is also the author of four book chapters.

Dr. Cioplean is part of the Ethics Office of the World Society of Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology (WSPOS), he is a reviewer for the Springer Nature publishing house as a specialist in strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology, especially for British Medical Currents.

She was the editor of the European Strabological Association (ESA) between 2013 and 2017, editing 3 volumes of works.

Currently, for the second time, she is the President of the Romanian Society of Strabology and Ophthalmology and since 2017, the Vice-President of the ESA (European Strabismological Association).

Since 2018, she has been part of the Organization Committee of the European certification exam in the Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology subspecialty (EBO Subspecialty Examination), being a member of the examination committee again in 2023 and its secretary.

She organized the Congress of the European Strabological Association (ESA) in 2012, the SRSOP Congress in 2010 and in 2018 he was co-organizer of the Congress of the European Society of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery (ESOPRS).
